About the Project
The Mudi Tank Filling Scheme is a major irrigation project in Karnataka that aims to address water scarcity in the Soraba Taluk. The project involves the construction of a lift irrigation system to pump water from the Varada River and distribute it to 66 tanks in the region. This will provide a reliable water supply for agriculture, livestock, and domestic use. The project also includes a 5-year operation and maintenance contract to ensure the long-term sustainability of the system. The project is estimated to cost ₹272.55 crores and is being implemented by the Karnataka Neeravari Nigam Ltd., UTP Zone, Shivamogga.
BCPL Role
M/s Bagkiya Construction Pvt. Ltd. is the primary contractor for the Mudi Tank Filling Scheme, working in collaboration with M/s. Amrutha Constructions, Bangalore. They are responsible for the entire project, including the design, construction, installation, testing, and commissioning of the lift irrigation system. This involves building a bridge cum barrage, intake trough, jack well cum pump house, power supply infrastructure, transmission line, rising main, pressure distribution network, delivery chambers, and gravity distribution network. The project aims to fill 66 existing MI/ZP tanks in Soraba Taluk of Shivamogga district by lifting water from the Varada River near Mudi village.
